“The power to tax is the power to destroy.”
- John Marshall

It begins with overviews of income taxation of individuals and closely-held businesses, offering a refresher for attorneys who already are familiar with the basics and a primer for those who are not.

The program then moves to advanced issues within specified topics including:

  • Internal Revenue Code Section 1041 and its impact on court-ordered property division
  • Brief overview of gift tax
  • Detailed examination of various tax issues, problems and strategies in equitable distribution settlements
