This presentation provides an overview of the assistance available to lawyers for alcohol and substance abuse and mental health through the North Carolina Lawyer Assistance Program (NCLAP), including the history of NCLAP, current  structure and confidentiality.

A review of other resources generally available to lawyers, their clients and family members are also covered.

The presentation concludes with a personal story of recovery.
