The 2016 NC/SC Labor & Employment Law Program features practical topics that focus on complex legal issues in our field and current trends in our more traditional subjects.

As always, we have excellent substantive updates regarding the Supreme Court of the United States, the Fourth Circuit, the North and South Carolina updates, and FLSA and NLRB updates, all of which are presented by leading employment law practitioners in their own entertaining and educational way.

David Lopez, the EEOC’s General Counsel, joins us again this year to present on the hottest issues and enforcement priorities for the Commission.

This year we have a panel of federal district court judges from North and South Carolina who give us their view of employment law.

The Qui Tam Department of Cohen Milstein's office in Philadelphia discusses qui tam and whistleblower laws.

The Employment Law Program also includes a panel discussion led by NLRB Deputy Regional Attorney Lisa Shearin, who is joined by labor and management counsel, about NLRA issues for non-union lawyers.

In addition, this advanced level program includes topics around LGBT issues, mediation, changes to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure governing discovery and criminal implications of trade secret misappropriation.

Also included is an informative and entertaining session to satisfy the mental health/substance abuse CLE requirement.

The combination of practical, educational, insightful and entertaining topics over the two days are sure to be worthwhile and immensely helpful to our practices.
