In response to seven executive actions issued by President Obama on June 4, 2013, to refine and create greater transparency in the patent process, the USPTO has started a number of campaigns to educate and discuss with the national body of intellectual property attorneys in order to facilitate greater comprehension and quality in executing patent prosecutions and other interactions with the Office.

The Office of Patent Quality is taking the lead among the Offices, which operate under the Commissioner of Patents, with other quality initiatives being pursued in the other Offices, in order to complement their campaign, the Enhanced Patent Quality Initiative.

This Patent Quality Discussion Series adds to the momentum of the EPQI as an interaction with the public and practitioners, which began with the Patent Quality Summit in March 2015 and which runs in regularly updating concert with its monthly Patent Quality Chat webinar series.

Presented by the USPTO in coordination with the NCBA Intellectual Property Law Section
