Wouldn’t it be great if legal issues came across your desk in clearly defined categories?

"Employment issue," "data privacy violation" and "potential discovery pitfalls" are not labels that accompany the facts our clients bring us each day. As in-house counsel, no two days look alike. Regardless of the size of your sole clients or your in-house legal department, you often have to play the generalist and flag a variety of issues (even if you eventually pass them on to a colleague or outside counsel).

Circulated to registrants in advance, a hypothetical scenario describing the woes of the Nutten Getenthru Security company — a small but growing residential and commercial security and surveillance technology operation — sets the stage to discuss some of the "adventures" we face as in-house counsel. Dissection and analysis of issues detailed in the hypothetical provides an opportunity to flex your legal generalist skills and touch on a variety of legal issues that arise from a single set of facts.

The Corporate Counsel Section of the NCBA welcomes the many in-house counsels across our state to attend this can’t-miss CLE. This all-day event features six practical sessions and numerous opportunities to network, including over lunch and during an extended networking break.
