A cause of action is the initiator of a civil lawsuit; it is essentially the very reason civil suits exist in the first place. Whether filing a suit on behalf of your client or responding to a complaint filed against your client, an attorney must analyze the unique circumstances of the case, determine the suitability of one or more cause(s) of action, and provide sufficient proof to support every element of a claim or counterclaim to achieve a successful outcome.
Based on three intriguing chapters selected from the bestselling publication, Elements of Civil Causes of Action in North Carolina, this program discusses the requirements, defenses and remedies for the following common North Carolina civil causes of action:
- Alienation of Affection and Criminal Conversation
- Wrongful Death
For further exploration of 37 additional causes of action that commonly arise in North Carolina, each attendee will receive the brand-new Elements of Civil Causes of Action in North Carolina, Third Edition, in both print and electronic formats.
The electronic publication will be available for download in the NCBA online portal prior to the program. Print copies will be mailed via UPS ground shipping within 7-10 days after the program. A street address must be provided at the time of registration; no P.O. boxes, please. Note that program attendance is required to receive a printed book.
