Original Program: Family Law Paralegal Webcast Series, October 11, 2018

Available format

The definition of what constitutes a family in the 21st century is changing every day.

Gender identity is also a concept that has become a new but very important issue in family law. The representation of transgender (TG) persons can include representation of persons in a wide variety of family law contexts. However, often one of the greatest challenges for TG persons is being able to successfully assert their parental rights in family court, including in child custody and termination of parental rights proceedings.

This session discusses the custodial challenges that TG parents often face in asserting their parental rights.

This program qualifies for Certified Paralegal Education (CPE) credit only.
