This session addresses the unique legal, professional, and ethical challenges that emerge when determining whether confidential mental health records or confidential communications received by mental health professionals may legally or ethically be shared outside the counselor/client relationship.
The session explores situations in which patients share information that suggests they are a danger to themselves or others.
It also discusses when Title IX complainants’ confidential communications or mental health records may be disclosed to lawyers representing schools.
