Join us for a special joint program between the Military & Veterans Law and Elder & Special Needs Law Sections.
With nearly 200,000 servicemembers separating from active duty military service each year, filing or appealing a claim for Veterans Affairs (VA) disability or compensation can be challenging without essential knowledge obtained through a VA accreditation course.
This CLE program provides education and training to attorneys who desire to assist in the preparation, presentation and prosecution of a claim for VA benefits.
It covers subjects mandated by 38 C.F.R. Section 14.629(b)(iii) for attorney accreditation including: representation before VA, claims procedures, basic eligibility for VA benefits, right to appeal, disability compensation (38 U.S.C. Chapter 11), dependency and indemnity compensation (38 U.S.C. Chapter 13), and pension (38 U.S.C. Chapter 15).
Planned by the NCBA Military & Veterans Law and Elder & Special Needs Law Sections

IMPORTANT VA Accreditation Information
The first 3 hour block of this program qualifies as approved VA accreditation training for accredited individuals, under 38 CFR 14.629.
In order for the first 3 hour block to count for VA accreditation purposes for those new to VA practice, the attendee must FIRST complete an application for accreditation AND receive their approval PRIOR to attendance. Failure to obtain approval prior to attendance could mean having to retake the training.
It is recommended that the VA application be submitted 4-6 weeks prior (or earlier) to attending the program.
